“A design that fits a knife is not immediately apparent. It is a result of trial and error. If I rush to do it I always fail I get all kinds of scratches. So there is no choice I have to be patient.“

MUSASHI CHOKIN

MUSASHI JAPAN proudly showcases the art of forging our premium and luxury blade, known as CHOKIN (Gold Engraved Blade). Handcrafted by our in-house artisan, each blade features intricate designs inspired by traditional Japanese motifs and folklore. The Asamura Chokin blades are our most sought-after collector’s knives, requiring months of meticulous craftsmanship to complete.

WHAT ARE THE KNIVES MADE OF?

Most of our Chōkin blades are made from Blue Steel and engraved with 24K gold. Blue Steel is easy to sharpen and holds its edge well, which is why many chefs and craftsmen prefer it. It cuts cleanly and precisely, gripping food fibers rather than sliding off, making it well-suited for delicate work.
